A few weeks ago I picked up a Fuji X100. I’d read a lot of reviews, and it sounded like a great camera. But, to be honest, I was mostly in love with the retro look of the thing. Plus the sentimental connection to the Fujica STX that I first learned to shoot with in the 1980s, and this camera has the look and feel of that (even though the AX was a SLR).
Anyway, my idea was that it would be an ideal camera to have with me when “the moment” comes along. It does, however, require the discipline to act when you see the opportunity, and after only two weeks I finally had the discipline to stop the car, find a vantage point and get a few shots as a big storm front descended on Melbourne.
I think I’m going to enjoy this camera.
