Went down to Port Melbourne very early this morning to try out a new lens. Its the Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8 L II, and its incredibly sharp. Its also rather heavy, but I think its going to be worth carting around. I also think I need to clean my filters a bit more often, as this lens is showing up rain spots more than any of my others do. I rehashed the beacon photo so I could compare with the 24-105mm f/4 L, this time in B&W, and tried out a 5 min exposure of the breakwater up the Webb Dock end of the beach, which is the second pic below.
